4.3.1.5. Perpendicular Foot
With the function Calculate > Intersections
> Perpendicular Foot the
perpendicular foot of a point to a straight line can be calculated and saved as
a plane coordinate.
Define the start and end
point of the straight line and the reference point by entering the point
numbers. Alternatively, click on the points in the graphic screen of GART-2000®
CE. The
straight line and the perpendicular line are displayed in the graphical screen.
To parallel-shift the straight line enter the value in the field Distance.
A positive distance moves the straight line to the right, a negative distance
results in a shift to the left. The orientation of the straight line is defined
from start to end point.
With the <Option> button other
definitions for the straight line are possible.
By pressing the <OK> button the
calculation of the perpendicular foot point is started.
The results of the
calculation shows the plane coordinates of the perpendicular foot point, the
distance between the perpendicular foot point and the start (p)
and the end point (q) as well as the
distance to the reference point (h).
If you want to store the coordinates click the <Save>
button. The coordinate input dialog is opened automatically.
